What have I accomplished? In other words, what have been the highlight of my first presentation? Consider the process of preparation, delivery and evaluation. Feel free to use English, Chinese, or mixture of them in the response.
I had a few whole English presentation experience before but this time I felt kind of nervous due to the excellent performance of the previous group. We were pretty lucky that the paper is well-organized and easy to understand so that I felt good while I was preparing the presentation. However, I noticed that each person has only fifteen minutes to present so that I skip some slide and try to mentioned the key person.
What could I have done better? In other words, what challenges have I faced and how might I respond to them next? Feel free to use English, Chinese, or mixture of them in the response.
I have something to make this presentation better. First of all, I should use more graph or list to present some of the idea clearly. Take the participants in the research for an example, I didn’t organize it pretty well so some of the audience might not get the meaning clearly. Secondly, I can’t pronounce most of the names pretty well and I am not sure the exactly pronunciation. Finally, I missed some link words while I was doing the presentation.
All in all, it’s really a nice chance that I GOT a chance to present in English and knew that I REALLY have a lot to move on.
What have I learnt from the first presentation? Consider learning from the course, peers, and self-experience, etc. Feel free to use English, Chinese, or mixture of them in the response.
I pay highly respect on the first group who talked about all the ideas in a super clear way. I like the way they present their presentation precisely and clearly. Also, they tried their best to make abstract idea into understandable one. I also like the talking speed which is suitable for listeners. Thanks to their hard work, I DID learn something from their excellent performance
How and in what ways do I intend to improve my next presentation? Consider areas/aspects to focus on, strategies, and goals set etc. Feel free to use English, Chinese, or mixture of them in the response.
There are lots of things for me to improve my English presentation skills and I found some ways which might help. First of all, NTNU has a website that helps students to work on their English ability and one of the items is English PowerPoint Presentation. There are six clips that shows you from the opening to the conclusion which is super useful. Secondly, just like the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.” NTNU has a Center for Academic Literacy which has professional tutors that help you with your academic writing or speaking. I should ask for their advice before my presentation. Finally, I am too nervous that I easily made some mistakes in pronunciations or grammar.
