Deal all 

We are going to have our MIDTERM exam on Wednesday. As for beginners, especially in Chin 1001 students, the main focus would be on the oral ability and listening ability; meanwhile I wish you can recognize some basic Chinese WORDS like pronouns and normal verb and make a simple sentence. 

 Quesitons you might have 

 I can't recognize Chinese Characters?

Help students to make vocabulary card. One the one side is the Chinese Word and on the other side is the Pinyin and English meaning. Also, we can do some activities in class to help them to be familiar with those cards. 

 Activities :

1. Matching :( need two worksheet )  

Put all the cards on the table, mess up and invite student to pair up. 

2. Hit the word you hear 

pair up or three in a group.

teacher says a word in Chinese and students have pat on the word. 

3. heart attact 

invite four students to sit in a circle. each student has a set of cards.

student shows one card and put it one the table at the same time. Once you find someone's card is the same, you have to shout the word out immediately.

I also made Chinese word cards with two or three Chinese Characters which can conduct different activities like unscramble sentence, sentence relay and so on.  

 Activities : 

1. make a sentence: 

four people in one group 

put one word and two words cards together on the table and give each group three minutes to make as more sentences as they can. It's okay to use the same word again anf again.   

times up. Invite each group to sepak out their sentences. 

1-1 follow up activity : unscramble the sentences 

work in pair to unscramble the sentences that you made before. 

2. sentence relay 

four people in one group 

put one word and two words cards together on the table and each group takes turns to make a sentence to see which group can make the most sentences.
