Tzu-Chun:
Overall, this activity is both engaging and effective. The students will have plenty of opportunity to come up with their own examples and discuss with each other. Here are a few suggestions:
- It seems that the activity is based on the game rules from Quiddler. It’s ok to use the same game rules, but if you think it’s better to simplify the activity a little bit, you can certainly write your own rules. Description of the rules and procedure need some clarification.
- Using the same activity to teach word formation is a great idea.
- One of the goals is to help students learn more new words, but this does not seem to be emphasized during the activity. Since this is a game for about 15-20 minutes, we may remove this goal if we don’t think it’s necessary or there is enough time.
