An observation of Taipei Europeans School

Outlooks and decorations of TES	« The beautiful decoration demonstrates the spirit of student-centered model. « The school is an art gallery where surrounded by many nice, great, and colorful artistic works made from students and staff. All the hallways and walls have pretty themed decoration and various exhibitions from students’ works. Beauty is in daily life. Beauty is to see, to feel and to have it. « Make the best use of different corners to provide different learning access like dismantled computer parts on the hallway desk, Christmas tree at the hallway.

The decoration in the class	« the coach sofa reading corner and the big carpet to gather students around and do the discussion. « Classroom is also a place full of positive energy and encouragement by the posters and slogans posted in. « There are a lot of moral educations mottos which were pasted on the wall. Students’ work pasted on the wall as well.
Class management of middle graders	«The teacher had to stop a few time for the students to quiet down. He mentioned if they kept talking, he will send the student outside. « The teacher managed the class with a lower volume of voice and the Ss fall into the sudden quietness when the teacher pushed the bell on the desk. However, enthusiastic discussion right after the teacher’s command to start moving. « the kids’ patience in waiting for the teacher’s feedback by raising their hands without making any noise. «Teacher showed her respect for children and the phenomenon led children to give comments and share ideas which made students in TES be more confident and energetic.

Class management of higher graders	« Teacher used activities or games to attract learning and make learning more fun and interesting and let young learners can move, not just sit to keep their concentration in learning. « The teachers never directly say the answers, but the students could display what they have studies after their learning. « T gave clear guidelines for the independent task for students, and also develops routines that students know how to follow. Thus, the students know when to get help from their teacher and when they should work on their own quietly.

Focus on Learning Teachers did Students do	« Teachers created a learning atmosphere of cooperation, respect, and well-intention. « Teachers try their best to provide an environment in which the students could learn to be well-intentioned global citizens. « Professional teachers know how to help students with different levels and always guide students to find the concepts «Students may complete a task taking various length of time and the teacher then can help slow learners to complete their tasks or to encourage more discussion and give instructions to those advanced learners « Well-behaved Students who have a passion for learning and they always pay attention to teachers even though there are sounds coming from outside.
