今天是世界圖書版權日，其由來就是為了紀念 1616年的大文豪 Shakespeare 的逝世。今天全球各地都有相關活動，我們系上辦了 “Read A Poem " - 為您朗讀的活動，感覺滿有文組人的溫暖。 我選了我最愛的蔣勳， 唸了一首滿浪漫的詩跟同事與學生分享
What is World Book Day and When is it? World Book and Copyright Day designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. It takes place on 23 April every year.
April 23 is a symbolic date for world literature. It is on this date in 1616 that Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. It is also the date of birth or death of other prominent authors, such as Maurice Druon, Haldor K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo.
It was a natural choice for UNESCO's General Conference, held in Paris in 1995, to pay a world-wide tribute to books and authors on this date, encouraging everyone, and in particular young people, to discover the pleasure of reading and gain a renewed respect for the irreplaceable contributions of those, who have furthered the social and cultural progress of humanity. With this in mind, UNESCO created the World Book and Copyright Day.

Due tothe pandemic of covi-19, we have a Virtual International Book day through Google Meet from April 21 to April 23.
The event would be similar to previous years: students, faculty, staff that are interested in participating read a short poem, a song, an essay, short story, fragment of a novel in the language they are learning or teaching. It would also be nice if people explain why they have chosen what they are reading.
