我就喜歡這樣的妳

美國自從春假過後，就開始停課在家自學，學校會發語文或是數學類似講議或是學習單的東西，讓學生按部就班的持續學習，但是線上課程就是見仁見智了。目前長居美國加州的繪本作家 Arree Chung 開始了一系列的 creativity camp 設計給國小對於創作繪畫有興趣的小朋友。

I rarely paid for a lesson but if I am willing to pay the class must be super. YES, I PAID 47 $ for a three-week art lesson and I paid another 30$ for three more weeks. The host of the art camp is Arree Chung. He is the author and illustrator of Mixed. Arree Chung had a free creativity camp for a week and had another three weeks for paid lessons. I think I am kind of love his class and the following is what we did in his creativity camp.

 Five day Free  creativity camp 

For K2 kids, Arree teaches ten basic sight words and guides kids how to draw each sight words with basic shapes. The assignment is try to use ten sight words to compose a small story. 

 Day 3  

10 sight word: boy , and , cat, girl , sat, on , sad, hat, eat, bed

10 sight words: turtle, race car, speed, two, race , turn, number, last , finish , bird , ducks, three

Draw a picture and make a simple story 

Q: What shape shall we use for a ...? 

For K3 - K5 kids, Arree teacher how to make a book, how to compose a comics, step by step. The assignment is try to use your imagination to create a story or comics on your own.  

 Day 4  How to make a book dummy 

Draw the magic moments? 

Make your first dummy ASAP ( If you want to publish a book, you have to do at least 15 dummy ) 

"CHARACTER BASED BOOK"  - books are 32 to 40 pages 

Elements of the story : How to tell a story 

- establish the character

- hook the audience 

- difine the problem

- incity incident 

- escalate the problem

- peak and resolution

- satisified ending 

 Day 5  How to make a comic

story has three parts 

1. beginning ( 2 grids ) 

- who are the characters?

- where do they live?

- what's the problem? 

2. Middle ( 4 grids ) 

- what happens next?

- How does the problem get worse? 

- what changes happen? " Turning point "

3. ending ( grid x3 )

- what choices are made?  

- how is the problem solved?

- how do we feel at the end?

There are 5 classes per week for three weeks. It is only $60 for the WHOLE three week block.  There will be replays and handouts by the next day. You can easily access it through the teachable platform we are using. :)
