因應議員在質詢中建議學校應積極引進外籍英語教師,英語組經過討論後,決定申請教育部的相關計畫。考量教學銜接與文化適應,我們邀請目前在台灣就讀、對本地文化相對熟悉的 ELTA(English Language Teaching Assistant)外籍英語教學助理 加入教學行列。ELTA屬於鐘點制老師,採「有課即來、無課即走」的彈性方式,若在校內備課亦可計入鐘點,每週上限為20節課。為了讓全校學生都能接觸外師、感受國際交流氛圍,採取「雨露均霑」的安排——開學前兩週讓外師進入各班打招呼與自我介紹,其後18週平均分配至六個年級,每個年級可安排三週的課程體驗,讓孩子們都能體驗外師帶來的英語互動與文化交流樂趣

五年級配合計畫,設計以「文化交流與英語表達」為主軸的課程,由來自菲律賓(Philippines)的外籍助理進班,透過三週主題活動(自我介紹、文化比較、校園生活分享),讓學生在自然互動中增進口語表達、了解世界多樣文化,也讓外師更深入體驗臺灣學生的學習熱情與友善校園氛圍。
事前作業
我們事前都會共編課表,讓英語任課老師填,外師入班的時間。接著,會由主要負責五年級的老師去構思三週活動,完成後,再跟其他老師討論。確認無誤後,再給外師看。因為每堂課程的地點可能會不同,所以都要特別跟外師確認上課時間地點
外師課前通知單
跟外籍教師合作,我個人會把時間點清楚的告知,理論上,一堂課中師20分鐘,外師活動20分鐘。
此外,外師可能不太理解現在小學高年級的英語程度,簡單來說字彙量差不多400,程度大約是PRE A1的程度。

外師備課單
如何跟外師備課呢? 我們主要目的希望學生有一對一可以跟外師口說練習的機會,同時讓外師可以介紹自己國家的風土民情與文化。
WEEK 1 — Getting to Know Each Other
第一週課程,配合HESS 人物介紹頁自我介紹。我請外師準備2分鐘自我介紹,也請學生準備大約7-8句自我介紹,每人會有30秒的時間跟外師一對一對話。接著,我請外師介紹菲律賓的相關地點,人口,天氣,語言,等等。大約10-12分鐘的PPT。課程中我會請學生寫筆記,外師課程結束,會有簡單的問答;時間夠,學生可以作小組口說練習。
