Costa Rica is sooooooo expensive make me feel like I am in the US not the middle America. If you have travel budget, you may just stay five days here. If not, welcome to Costa Rica. Costa Rica welcome foreigners and you can pay by local currency, US dollar or credit card. i

 

 Where can I change the local currency 

the currency in the ariport is the worst (1 dollar : 460 KL.)  If you want to take the local bus to downtown, you can just change just 5 or 10 dollars. If your hostel or hotel will pick you up in the airport which cost you 25 to 30 us dollars, you don't have to change money in the airport. 

Ways to get the local currency 

When you aiirived at the hotel, you can pay US dollars and they will give you the local currency.

If you go to the supermarket, you can pay US dollars and they will give you the local currency. （1 dollar : 500 KL）

BANK is the best choise. I visited Costa Rica in Jan 2020, the currency is 1 dollar : 560 KL

BUY LOCAL BUS IN ADVANCE 

When you check in, you can ask the front desk to help you buy the local bus ticket to other cities. Due to there is only one or two buses a day, it is very competive to get a ticket.
