For week seven, we are going to review nationalities, introduce  different languages, job names in Chinese. Also, we are going to practice new sentence patterns like, "你会说什么语言?" “我会说简单的汉语。” “你做什么工作?” “我是老师。” “他是谁?” “他是我爸爸。”

WARM UP 

Review countries, family member, and sentences.

Play a game: 

Pair up. One asks question "你是哪国人?" the other spins and answers "我是--人。" 

one asks (depends on the grid you spinned)  "你——(family member) 是 ---人吗?" the other answers with 是 / 不是 ( depends on which part does the paper clip be located )

PRESENTATION

Introduce new Chinese word "说" & 语 . Country + 语 = the spoken language in that country. Do a few practice.

 What is CHINESE in CHINESE? 

中/ 汉 / 华 all mean Chinese;

话 / 语 refer to the spoken language

文 refers to the written form.
