While I was reading "Framing America", an art history book of America, I found that America is a multi-culture country that combined Latin American Indian, Spanish, German, British, and African American. Meanwhile, Taiwan is a multi-culture country as well, and we combined the indigeous people, Spanish, Netherland, Han, Japanese, and Chinese.
Basic information of Taiwan
Taiwan is located in East Asia and China to the west, South Korea to the north, Japan to the north-east, and the Philippines to the south.
Taiwan is a big and highly development ISLAND which has an area of 35,808 square kilometres (13,826 sq mi), with mountain ranges dominating the eastern two thirds and plains in the western third. Taiwan has almost 24 million inhabitants and its capital city is Taipei.
(Before 1600) The indigenous peoples in Taiwan
Taiwanese indigenous peoples settled the island of Taiwan around 6,000 years ago. In addtion, Taiwanese indigenous peoples belong to Austronesian language family and Taiwan might be the homeland of Austronesian language family due to its diversity.

Open the gate to the world in Nautical Age
During the Age of Discovery, Europeans had found many treasures and amzaing lands, Taiwan is one of them. The first name of Taiwan is Formorsa which means beautiful island given by Portugeses. Indeed, Taiwan is a beautiful island where covered forest, lived many different species, and it's a paradise of creatures. The main reason why Formorsa can keep its beauty is because the way the indigenous people thought, and the way they treated to the island. The indigenous people respected the island and they lived together with the sustainable island. They are not greed and they always live in the present moment.
However, due to Nautical Age, Taiwan was forced to open to the world and nobody wants to live in Taiwan forever, all they want is the resources in the island. They bullied the indegenous people, ruled them in an unfair way that caused numberous war between indegenous people and outcomers.

西班牙 Spain 1626~1642
Spainsh ruled the north part of Taiwan in 1626 and got expelled by Netherland in 1642. There is no ruins that Spanish left due to the material they used is wood.
西班牙於1626至1642年間，統治北台灣(北北基)，但卻不曾移留下任何遺跡，西班牙人興建的 聖薩爾瓦多城 ，因為是木造建築，已經消失不可考究。

荷蘭 Netherland 1624 ~ 1662
Netherland ruled the south part of Taiwan in 1624 and got expelled by Zhang ChenGong in 1662. They imported Han people to Taiwan to do the farming and receieved high tax from people. There were a few fights between Netherland and Han people and one of them called Gui HuaiYI event. Netherland had ruled Taiwan for thirty-eight years and they recorded the local language called "Sinkan Language" in Roma Pinyin. Sinkan Language spoken by indegenous people in the south of Taiwan.

鄭成功政權 Zhang ChenGong 1662~1683
When it talks to Zhang ChenGong, you must think of a story call "Anti Qing back to Ming". In 1664, Qing replaced Ming in China and Zhang ChenGong didn't want to be ruled by Qing Goverment so that he came to Taiwan in 1662 and expelled Netherland and started his Dynasty in 1662. Zhang ChenGong is the first person who is willing to pay an effort to Taiwan, he constructed farming system, set up school for education and people loved him so much that built temtle for him.

清領時代 Qing Dynasty,1683 ~ 1895
Qing took over the power of Zhang ChenGong in 1683 but Qing didn't take care Taiwan that much so Qing set up strict rules that forbidden China people moved to Taiwan and forbidden people in Taiwan to married indegenous people. Botan tribe incident took place in 1874 and changed Qing's attitude to Taiwan. Qing started to constuct Taiwan in many ways like the railway, the education, the tax and so on but it's too late to construct Taiwan. In the late of Qing Dynasty, there were wars between the world and Taiwan was given to Japan in 1894.

日治時代 Japanese 1895 ~ 1946 (China: Qing Dynasty vanished , ROC set up in 1911, WW2 IN 1945 Japan gave Taiwan back to ROC.)
There were many fight between Japanese and the local Taiwan from 1985 to 1915 and at that time Dr. Sun Yat-Sun took over the power of Qing Dynasty and set up a country called Republic of China and Dr. Sun Yat-Sun is the national father in China.
Meanwhile, Japanese Goverment started to constuct Taiwan in many ways. They complete the railroad in Taiwan, educated Taiwanese mordern knowledge, built many basic buildings like markets, and official bureau from 1915 to 1937.
Then, world war 2 began and it was a terrible time in Taiwan. During 1937 to 1945, young men were forced to be a soldiers, and woman were forced to send in the Military to comfort Japanese Soldiers. Meanwhile, The USA ended world war 2 with two bombs in 1944 and Taiwan was gave back to Republic of China in 1946.
Meanwhile, KMT fight with Communist Party and lost his power in 1949 so that KMT moved to Taiwan to keep his power.
