這次暑假即將前往蘭嶼帶為期一個星期的科學營隊,上午講述關於水的科學。下午是英語繪本社團。兩個都是滿具有挑戰性的領域,上午的科學課程,讓我知道跨領域時,應該著重的方面,以及英語可以給的輔助。下午的英語繪本,以海洋議題融入的方式,語言變成一種實用的工具,用真實的內涵,引導學生去深層的思考。

蘭嶼是台灣最美麗的離島,希望能透過繪本的分享,喚醒蘭嶼的孩童,對於海的連結。

 DAY 2 AB SEA  (three hours)

WARM UP: KAHOOT OF FISH NAME (hooray for fish)

Presentation: Get to know the real name of a fish

activity:

divide the class into two groups and give them fish cards.

invite them to put all the cards on the floor and put into two categories: known and unknown

invite the group to do show and tell

Introduce the book "A B SEA"

1. show the picture -> what is it? 

2. tell its name -> pass the card and pronounce it three times

3. get to know more information: where is it?

5. think an action of it

  game: invite the class to make a cirlce and each one has to choose a fish card and paste it on their shoulder.  They have to shout their fish name with an action one by one.

  Notice: 1. the second one has to repeat the first one and so on.  2. It's okay to help others. Don't be shy and open your mind.

 (take terms to finish all 26 words) 

Activity: categorize all the words

Put all the cards on the ground and invite Ss to divide them into groups and tell others the reason

 game: find the way home 

each student takes one fish card and they have to find their companies by keeping speaking its name and doing the action. 

(change cards for several terms)

Produce: make a lanyu fish poster

 Have you ever saw the fish swim in the ocean? Do you know its name? Where does it live? How big / small it was? Which season can you see it? Can you eat it? 

 group work: make a fish-introduction (poster)

國中生版本教案

蘭嶼的英語教育是從國小三年級開始施行,每周一堂課,所以城鄉落差是必然的,想要接受更好的教育就必須離開蘭嶼,走私人教育系列,這次的學生有兩位來自天母地區,另外兩位是台東均一實驗學校,英語程度都不錯,所以再把原本的東西加深加廣。

WARM UP

破冰遊戲:

邀請學生圍成一圈,由老師開始自我介紹並做出英語開頭的字母動作,第二位必須要重複第一位,並且自我介紹,接續下去,直到回到原點為止。

eg: 1. i am ulla. she is ulla. i am Luke. ...

指人叫名子: 由老師開始隨意指出一人並說: he is LUKE. 接著從 LUKE 開始指人叫名子。

PRESENTATION

延續破冰遊戲,拿出魚類的字卡,由老師開始念三次傳閱,每人抽選一個魚類字卡,開始玩魚類的破冰遊戲,第二輪: 指魚叫名子 (大約玩兩輪)

文本探究:

兩人一組,挑選四種有興趣的海洋生物,依照文本回答老師的問題,寫出一個小短文介紹該海洋生物,學生可以使用手機查詢更多資料或是發音都是被允許的行為。透過手機的搜尋,讓學生了解,原來手機的公用不只是玩遊戲而已。

What does it eat? 

tell more in detail of anything special about it

產出: 學生文本寫完後,給老師檢查,老師挑選兩隻魚類請學生去拍片錄影。如果學生不想錄影可以使用繪畫的方式記錄也可以。
